How souls are split in Deadlock: kills, assists and objectives

How many souls you get when you share a kill, why a solo kill pays the most, and what every objective is worth to your team.

Updated 26 October 2026 2 minute read

When heroes share a kill, its souls are split between them, and the total gets smaller as more heroes join in. A kill you get on your own pays 125% of the enemy's bounty. Share it with one teammate and you each get 57.5%, which is 115% between the two of you.

Hero kills and troopers

Every hero who helped with a kill gets the same share. The table shows what each hero gets, and what all of them get together, for kills shared by one to six heroes.

417.5%70%25%100%
511%55%20%100%
68.3%49.8%16%96%

Two things stand out:

  • Hero kills pay most when fewer heroes share them. A solo kill pays 125%. With three or more heroes on one kill, the team gets less than the full bounty in total, so piling onto one target costs your team souls.
  • Troopers pay a little extra when two or three heroes share them. Two heroes near a trooper when it dies get 54% each, a bit more than the trooper is worth. From four heroes up, it's the normal amount or less.

Objectives

Destroying an objective pays your whole team. 25% of its souls go to the heroes standing nearby, and the other 75% are shared by every hero on the team, the nearby ones included.

Walker3,675

So it pays to be there when an objective falls: the 25% share only goes to the heroes who are close by.

What it means in a match

  • Finish kills with as few heroes as it takes. Look at the "All together" column: the more heroes on a kill, the fewer souls the team gets out of it.
  • Don't chase a kill across the map with the whole team. Four or five heroes on one kill gets the team well under the full bounty, and the lanes lose souls while everyone is away.
  • Walk over to objectives. If you're nearby when a Guardian or Walker goes down, you get a cut of the nearby share on top of your part of the team share.
