Items are how you turn souls into power. The shop has 156 of them, and they all follow the same few rules: a category, a price tier, and a bonus for spending in that category. Learn those and the shop stops looking overwhelming.
Three categories
Every item belongs to one of three categories, each with its own colour in the shop:
- Weapon (orange, 53 items): gun damage, fire rate, ammo and bullet effects.
- Vitality (green, 54 items): health, healing, resistances and movement.
- Spirit (purple, 49 items): ability damage, cooldowns, range and duration.
Most heroes lean on one category but buy from all three. A gun hero still needs vitality items to stay alive, and a spirit hero often picks up cheap weapon items in the lane.
Tiers and prices
Items come in four tiers. Every item in a tier costs the same, so the price tells you the tier at a glance.
| Tier | Price | Weapon | Vitality | Spirit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier I | 800 souls | 7 items | 8 items | 8 items |
| Tier II | 1,600 souls | 16 items | 15 items | 12 items |
| Tier III | 3,200 souls | 19 items | 14 items | 13 items |
| Tier IV | 6,400 souls | 11 items | 17 items | 16 items |
Higher tiers aren't just bigger numbers. Tier 3 and 4 items usually add a new effect, like an active ability or a bonus that triggers on hit, which is why one tier 4 item can change how a hero plays.
Active and passive items
112 items are passive: their effects are always on. The other 44 are active: you press a key to use them, and then they go on cooldown. Actives take up a slot on your action bar, so most players carry only a few.
Shop bonuses
The more you spend in a category, the stronger that category's bonus gets. It applies on top of the items themselves. Weapon spending raises your weapon damage, vitality spending your base health and spirit spending your spirit power.
| Souls spent in category | Weapon: weapon damage | Vitality: base health | Spirit: spirit power |
|---|---|---|---|
| 800 | +9% | +9% | +7 |
| 1,600 | +12% | +12% | +11 |
| 2,400 | +15% | +15% | +15 |
| 3,200 | +18% | +20% | +19 |
| 4,800 | +46% | +38% | +38 |
| 6,400 | +54% | +42% | +45 |
| 8,000 | +62% | +46% | +52 |
| 11,200 | +74% | +50% | +59 |
| 16,000 | +86% | +54% | +66 |
| 22,400 | +100% | +60% | +75 |
| 28,800 | +115% | +66% | +100 |
Note the jump at 4,800 souls. The weapon bonus goes from +18% to +46% there, and the other categories nearly double. That's why many players aim to reach 4,800 in their main category before spreading out.
Upgrading items
Some items build from a cheaper item in the same category. Every item page lists what it builds from and into, so you can plan a path from a tier 1 item to the tier 3 or 4 item you want. Items that are only sold in Street Brawl (17 of them) have their own section on the items page.
