The map

Deadlock farming

Troopers pay 100 souls and up, camps pay 135 to 597 at the start, and objectives pay thousands. Everything grows with match time. Here is every source, minute by minute.

Worth the walk

Which camps pay best

A large camp pays the most at once, but that isn't the whole story, because a camp can't pay again until it's back. Divide what each kind pays by its respawn time and small camps come out on top. There are only 4 small camps, though, so you can't live on those alone.

Camps by what they pay for their respawn time

Sinner's Sacrifice camps11155 to 4658:005:0050

Souls a minute is the kind's average pay at the start of a match, for one camp cleared the moment it returns. Clearing every camp on the map that way would pay your team about 3,152 a minute. It doesn't count the walk between them.

The rules

How farming works

Jungle souls are haunted

Souls from camps, machines and crates are haunted until they turn into normal souls, so dying can cost you the ones you just earned. How haunted souls work.

Allies split what they hit

A Haunt's souls split evenly between allies who damaged it in the last 5 seconds. Trooper orbs have their own sharing rule. How souls are split.

Trooper orbs can be denied

Half of a trooper's souls go into a ground orb and half into a floating orb that you or an enemy can shoot. Killing a trooper with melee pays the full amount at once, with no orbs.

Breakables pay small but often

Crates drop souls 60% of the time and tough crates 100%. Golden Statues drop a permanent buff 50% of the time instead. All the buffs.

Cockroaches count, barely

The cockroaches around the map are worth 1 each. Now and then one is a rat, which bursts into 5 more when it dies.

One item changes the sums

Cultist Sacrifice pays 270% of a Tier III Haunt's value for the player who uses it, which makes large camps far better for that hero.

Quick answers

Farming questions

What is the best way to farm souls in Deadlock?
Stay in lane for troopers, and clear nearby camps when they're up. For its respawn time, a small camp pays the most: about 95 souls a minute at the start of a match if you clear it as soon as it's back. Objectives pay far more at once, but need your team.
How many souls does a camp give?
At the start of a match, a small Haunt is worth 45, a medium one 75 and a large one 199. Whole camps range from 135 for a small camp to 597 for the biggest large camp.
Do camps give more souls later in the match?
Yes. A Haunt's souls grow by 1.08% of its starting value every minute, so a Haunt pays about 22% more at 20:00 than at the start. Crates, troopers and objectives also grow.
Do you lose jungle souls if you die?
Souls from camps, Sinner's Sacrifice machines and crates arrive as haunted souls. They turn into normal souls over time, and any you still have when you die are gone.
Are crates worth breaking?
A crate drops souls 60% of the time, so at 20:00 one is worth about 35 souls on average. That is small, but you can break them on your way past, even by dashing through. Tough crates always pay, and pay double.
Do troopers or camps pay more?
At 20:00, a trooper is worth 140 souls. A small Haunt is worth 54, a medium one 91 and a large one 241. Troopers come in waves all match, while camps have to come back.
